Open registration for the 2021-2022 school year begins 1 March
Opening in 1975 as a preschool, PCS chose an eagle as its mascot, drawing from Scripture the encouragement given in verse 31 of chapter 40 from the Book of Isaiah: “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings of an eagle; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
The size of Parkview Christian School grew in the succeeding years to include elementary through high school grades. However, local population levels have changed over the last decade and the number of children in the area has dropped significantly. Currently we offer pre-kindergarten through fifth grade classes only.
For the 2020 academic year Parkview Christian School has an enrollment of 107 students. We use the Abeka curriculum, a leader in private and home-based Christian education, for every subject. Our staff is ready to meet your child's educational needs. Most PCS teachers have a master's degree with many years of experience - and several have been at Parkview for 20 years or more.
Our objective is to provide a thorough education to every student, an education with a Biblical worldview. "What's that?" you might ask. Your worldview is how you perceive and react to events and people around you. It determines your beliefs, values, and actions. By placing God at the center of our world, we and other Christians turn to the Bible for guidance. The belief in an eternal, holy God leads us to the belief in right and wrong, to value others, and to act in accordance with His commandments (see Mark 12:30-31). A Christian worldview reinforces these beliefs and attitudes in the social and personal development of our students.
Our school offers a scholarship program for promising students whose families are unable to finance a private education. Contributions from our donors support this program, some faithfully contributing as little as $10 per month. We send every contributor a letter each month with updates on the progress of our school and its students. Their generosity to our ministry allows children an alternative to public education where they can grow and thrive in a healthy, Christ-centered environment.
Our school offers a quality Christian education at the lowest price in this area. Annual tuition rates at Parkview are $1200-$1600 lower than other Christian schools in Eufaula and Abbeville, and one-half to one-third of the cost of some in Dothan or Columbus. We are able to do so by operating as a true non-profit organization, barely taking in more than we need to remain open.
Every year, over 200 Christian schools across America close because of declining enrollment. We pray that won’t happen to Parkview Christian School! We would appreciate your assistance, whether financially or as a volunteer, as you feel led to help. We ask that you pray for our staff and students, as well.
We invite you to visit Parkview Christian School and see for yourself the work that God has laid before us. As our Lord said, “Behold, I say unto you, ‘Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already unto harvest.’ ”
Come see for yourself why Parkview Christian School has been called "Eufaula’s best-kept secret."
